Back in 2017!
We use hops every day to impart incredible flavour and bitterness to our beers. Picked only once a year, the harvested hops are normally dried and often pelletised, then nitrogen flushed and vacuum sealed to maintain freshness for use all year round. A small amount of the hops at harvest are set aside, and air freighted on the day of picking, to arrive at the brewery the very next day, and usually brewed with within 24 hours of leaving the bine. These hops create a beer with an unmistakably fresh and juicy hop aroma and flavour. The Botanist is our wet hop harvest ale and will be brewed at harvest time every year. This year's crop has yielded a beer with aromas of rockmelon, lychee, pine and baked citrus tart, with flavours of mango, passionfruit and subtle herbaceous notes.
